Flower field .
Let me go into the nature, lay in the flower field and I will be the happiest girl :) Even now I look at this photo and it looks like this trip was ages ago. So busy at work with planning/scheduling and all other new stuff that it's so hard to find time to do other things. Should I mention weddings on weekends? How about this - 10 weddings in two months? While working non stop. Seems like a quite busy season but I really enjoy both jobs and don't want to stop. But let's go back to this great trip in Vancouver Island!
A little bit squinting in this photo, but sun was so strong aaaand I tend to squint so much even on cloudy days so no surprise :) Anyway, after our stop at Hot Poles in Sooke we continued our trip to Creyke Point.
Mini session in the forest. We walked like for good half an hour until we realized that we are walking to completely opposite direction :) But I have to say that this forest was very very beautiful and somehow I could sense how old it was. Blame the setting sun or whatever you want but when walking in this forest I've imagined days way back in the past when first people discovered it...
this is our last spot that we were looking for :)
After this we made ourselves last dinner in this forest and enjoyed some night photography in the beach :)
Morning in a campsite .
Daily morning routine: start fire, prep your food, cook and enjoy :)
Our little tent worked well :)
I know this looks very much like a potatoe, but it's actually mango ;) Our dessert :)
I think I said this million times, but I looooove slow mornings. I love to wake up without alarm clock, wait for my breakfast and then.... prepare coffee. It's like my ritual to start a day in a right way. And this morning was just right for it. We actually planned one day where we won't go anywhere. We stayed at our campsite, made food, read book, played with BB gun and took a nap in hammock :) and it was great, to escape from checking time and just enjoy a day :)
Next day we went to visit Hot Poles and stopped at this never finished resort. The ruins are huge, this fireplace was supposed to be a master piece of the place. Never happened, but now it's an interesting object to visit.
Water looked super crystal, but it was very very cold so I stayed on rocks to enjoy sun like iguana ;)
Berries for lunch. I will continue this days' adventures on the next post :)
French beach on a weekday.
When your work hours are not regular 9 to 5 your long weekend is on weekdays. Sounds great right? :) Indeed! We did go camping after Canada Day to French Beach in Vancouver Island. This was the perfect mini escape vacation. The camping ground look very much like Golden Ears (where we went with Morta and Andrius in April), just no showers and also pretty much no reception.
We got all our firewood from Layla's boyfriend. It's such a life saver! We always end up having more then we need, but we don't imagine camping without fire. Also this time I felt like only we did this 'old school' camping where we slept in a tent. Everyone else had their RV's and it looked like they moved their mini house to the forest. Meanwhile we built our own chairs from these wooden blocks. At the end we always put them in fire like saying 'till the next time' :)
My little beautiful kettle did a perfect job in mornings. The best thing about this kettle that the handle doesn't get hot so you can easily put in on fire.
The beach right by our campsite :)
After we settle down our only goal for the first day was to visit Mysterious Beach. I think it was less then 30min drive from our camping site. We entered a very beautiful forest full of ferns and we also had to pass a suspension bridge. The trail itself is poorly marked so be aware of that. Our goal was to see a sunset their but we didn't want to go back in a dark. I felt like it would be super easy to get lost in there.
Isn't this beautiful?
Me taking a selfie :)
Some people were camping on this beach which I found really cool thing to do.
On our way back we stopped at this beach to take some photos and to enjoy sunset colours :)
Our small campsite and fairy lights to make it look more cozy ;)
The funniest thing was to make this barley soup in fire light only. And you know what? There is nothing better then making food on fire! It was sooooo delicious! We both love soups and it was like the best desert after a long day adventures :)
