Everyone (I hope!) knows my obsession for mountains and winter! What could be better if you add Christmas to this mix? Christmas with family? Yes! :) We went to Ottawa to visit Youn’s sister’s family. We had a huuuuge dinner with a mix of Korean and American food. Thanks to Youn’s mom and Ed who made this possible :)
Cheers to these amazing people :)
Yes, it was cold in Ottawa, but not windy! So it was ok :) On the second Christmas day we went to downtown and visit Parliament Hill, few churches, The National Art Gallery, Byward Market, tried out beaver tail and tried local cider at a corner pub. Check ✓ Check ✓ Check ✓ :)
No no, I’m not in London ;)
After Christmas we had few lazy days and then decided to go to Montreal. Since it’s close.. I guess only on east side of Canada you can say this, cause back in BC everything is quite far. The day was amazing! Could'n’t ask for a better :) We took this wonderful road along the river and on the other side we could see province of Quebec.
Our very first stop was at this massive building. It’s called Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal. The building itself is not that old. But everything began in early XX century with a small chapel on these slopes.
One of our last days we went to see hockey game! Local team Sens played against Washington Capitals. I think the most interesting part was to see two players getting into a fight and then the other one. So you get to see two sports if you’re lucky ;}
On our last day we had a very special moment for our baby Poppy who was baptised :)
Extra:
I probably should mention that one day turned out to be a series dedicated to Arnold Schwarzenegger and his character in a movie ‘Terminator’. I’m ready for the new movie this year!! Yay! ;D I should add to this one that the first two movies were created by canadian director James Cameron who was born in Ontario and created other well known movies like ‘Titanic’ or ‘Avatar’.
