Back to winter :) This morning we had an engagement shoot at Sea to Sky Gondola. Everytime I go there I feel so relaxed and inspired by nature. All I want to do is to create and enjoy beautiful landscape around me :)
Hunting for snow .
Everyone (I hope!) knows my obsession for mountains and winter! What could be better if you add Christmas to this mix? Christmas with family? Yes! :) We went to Ottawa to visit Youn’s sister’s family. We had a huuuuge dinner with a mix of Korean and American food. Thanks to Youn’s mom and Ed who made this possible :)
Cheers to these amazing people :)
Yes, it was cold in Ottawa, but not windy! So it was ok :) On the second Christmas day we went to downtown and visit Parliament Hill, few churches, The National Art Gallery, Byward Market, tried out beaver tail and tried local cider at a corner pub. Check ✓ Check ✓ Check ✓ :)
No no, I’m not in London ;)
After Christmas we had few lazy days and then decided to go to Montreal. Since it’s close.. I guess only on east side of Canada you can say this, cause back in BC everything is quite far. The day was amazing! Could'n’t ask for a better :) We took this wonderful road along the river and on the other side we could see province of Quebec.
Our very first stop was at this massive building. It’s called Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal. The building itself is not that old. But everything began in early XX century with a small chapel on these slopes.
One of our last days we went to see hockey game! Local team Sens played against Washington Capitals. I think the most interesting part was to see two players getting into a fight and then the other one. So you get to see two sports if you’re lucky ;}
On our last day we had a very special moment for our baby Poppy who was baptised :)
Extra:
I probably should mention that one day turned out to be a series dedicated to Arnold Schwarzenegger and his character in a movie ‘Terminator’. I’m ready for the new movie this year!! Yay! ;D I should add to this one that the first two movies were created by canadian director James Cameron who was born in Ontario and created other well known movies like ‘Titanic’ or ‘Avatar’.
My sisterrrrrr - winter ❄︎
If I would be a writer or a poet all my works would be about winter. There is something magic about this time and mountains has a destiny to be covered in snow. Sometimes touched by passing low clouds, illuminated by sunlight and visited by eagles or me. With love, Dovilė
P.S. Thanks to Youn for these film photos :)
Christmas on a mountain .
Dreams are coming true, especially on a snowy Christmas morning :) Recently I've been writing posts about our trip to Philippines but I can't skip this special day. I want to share my moments from our Christmas & birthday day. One of Youn's birthday presents was a trip to Sea to Sky Gondola located in Squamish. It's like an hour drive from Vancouver.
We left pretty early in the morning. I was affraid of long line ups at the gondolas, but when we arrived it was pretty empty so it was really nice :) We took lots of photos with film camera. It was really great to walk on a snow and enjoy the scenery. Could it be better? Yes!!!! In one of the viepoints we had a little snack break and ate Youn's pre-made chicken salad sandwitch. I bet everyone who saw us eating it were jealous, haha :) I guess I lost some karma points for it but there is nothing better then to have a meal outdoors so every time we go somewhere we try to take some homemade snacks.
I wish you Merry Christmas and lots of love hugs to everyone!
Baby it's cold outside but I found my Christmas magic on a mountain! :)
